First Beamtime at Elettra – Tomography of Neanderthal Bones

ENIGMA is all about virtual histology – and that’s done using a technique called Synchrotron phase-contrast micro-CT. The project team was able to secure beamtime at SYRMEP to scan a large set of the Krapina remains. After a couple of intense days, the team finished their acquisitions and data reconstruction.
