LINXS is an advanced study institute whose mission is to promote science and education focusing on the use of neutrons and X-rays, to attract world-leading scientists for short-term focused research visits, and to create international networks. One of Enigma’s team members, Dr Lucia Mancini is highly involved in LINXS and particularly with the Cultural Heritage theme. Thanks to Lucia, I became aware of the great opportunities present within LINXS, and when I heard there was a Virtual Histology workshop being organised, I thought – SAY NO MORE. The workshop was going to be organised in LUND, Swedeen, and consisted of a component of lectures by specialists in the field, a tour of the MAX IV synchrotron, as well as an interactive hackathon. It was an excellent opportunity to meet fellow virtual histology researchers, learn from their approaches and to get a push on how to use various software such as DragonFly and VG Studio. Since the workshop was in Lund, the way to get there from Trieste is with a flight to Copenhagen. Therefore, also a great opportunity to meet two other colleagues to discuss career opportunities and.. a visit to the Copenhagen National Museum. The National Museum is one of my all- time favourites with a fantastic collection of prehistoric archaeology, and a very impressive way of displaying the items Definitely a place for getting inspiration on outreach and science communication. Also – I LOVED that they dressed up a replica of the famous Sun Chariot (found in Trundholm Mose, 1400 BC)as a Christmas sledge in the Museum courtyard. Very festive!
